Philippe Clement, well aware of the former Ajax winger’s abilities, revealed that he fought tooth and nail to bring Cerny to Glasgow. Moreover, after the 2-1 victory over Motherwell, the Rangers manager expressed his belief that the best is yet to come.
“This is what we expected from him, and that’s why we pursued him,” Clement told Sky Sports. “We put up a fight to bring him here and convince him to join us because there were many other teams interested. He brings experience and knows how to find the right spaces on the pitch, as he demonstrated today. He also has a great connection with his teammates and can be decisive with assists, like he did against Dynamo Kiev, or with goals, as he did against Motherwell.”
