Breaking News: Luton Town announces the sudden and tragic passing of our colleague and friend

Mark was a highly skilled broadcaster and journalist, boasting over 20 years of experience in the fields of media, journalism, and communications. He contributed to some of the most prominent organizations in the media sector, including Sky Sports, BBC, and Thomson Reuters.

In 2008, he transitioned into corporate communications, beginning his journey at FIFA, the global governing body of football, where he successfully launched and edited a new monthly magazine published in four languages. In 2014, he returned to the United Kingdom to oversee communications for the Transport Systems Catapult, a newly established government-supported technology and innovation center.

Mark’s impact was evident during the Hatters’ ascent from non-league football to the Premier League, as he provided the Club with consistent public relations advice and consultancy before ultimately fulfilling his aspiration by joining Luton Town’s media team this summer, coinciding with the Club’s recruitment of new talent in preparation for the Premier League.

In the brief time he spent with the team, Mark’s enthusiasm for his role, the Club, and the community resonated with his colleagues, who quickly embraced him. He took great pride in making his debut in the Luton Town press box during the club’s inaugural Premier League match at Brighton.

Tragically, less than a month after receiving a cancer diagnosis and just one day after what would have been his 50th birthday, Mark succumbed to the illness after a courageous fight.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, and their three children—Max, Kurt, and Anya. The heartfelt condolences of everyone at the Club extend to them and to his extended family, including his sister Jane, who is a familiar figure among the Hatters supporters.

May Mark rest in peace.
