Everton have confirmed Beto has been released from hospital following medical checks after being knocked unconscious in their win over Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League match was paused during injury time after Beto and Morgan Gibbs-White suffered a nasty accidental clash of heads.
The game was paused for just under 10 minutes minutes, with both players receiving treatment on the pitch after colliding in the air while competing for a high ball inside the Everton half. Gibbs-White subsequently rose to his feet and appeared to walk off the field to receive more treatment.
But Beto, who seemed to stay prone on the floor for much longer following the collision, was subsequently taken from the field on a stretcher in the 10th minute of injury time.
Despite the concerning scenes, the 26-year-old, who was seen receiving oxygen, lifted his thumb up to the Everton fans inside Goodison Park, as he was taken from the field. Gibbs-White, meanwhile, remained on the pitch. The early signs were very good, very positive. He had come around and was speaking to the physios and the medical team so that’s good news at this early stage,’ Sean Dyche confirmed after the match.Everton has announced that Beto has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing medical examinations following an incident in their victory over Nottingham Forest. During injury time, the Premier League match was halted when Beto and Morgan Gibbs-White collided heads accidentally. The game was paused for nearly 10 minutes as both players received treatment on the field after clashing in the air while vying for a high ball in the Everton half. Gibbs-White managed to get up and leave the field for further treatment. However, Beto, who remained on the ground for a longer period after the collision, was later carried off the field on a stretcher in the 10th minute of injury time. Despite the worrying sight, the 26-year-old, who was given oxygen, gave a thumbs-up to the Everton fans at Goodison Park as he was being taken off the field. Gibbs-White, on the other hand, stayed on the pitch. “The early signs were very good, very positive. He had come around and was speaking to the physios and the medical team so that’s good news at this early stage,” confirmed Sean Dyche after the match.
Youssef Chermiti was brought in to substitute for the Everton forward, and the Toffees subsequently secured a two-goal win thanks to Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil’s long-range goals.
The win, Everton’s second in their last 16 games, places the hosts four points ahead of Nottingham Forest at the bottom of the table, and five points ahead of Luton at the top of the relegation zone.
This victory came after Sean Dyche passionately addressed his players earlier in the week, stating that he would ‘not be their scapegoat’.
