Peter Grant names the three ‘outstanding’ Celtic youngsters who impressed Brendan Rodgers on US Tour

Celtic’s pre-season tour in the United States proved to be a resounding success, both on the field and in the community this summer.

In terms of community engagement, the club undertook a commendable charitable initiative, contributing $10,000 to three local charities at each tour location.

“Regarding the right back position, Colby Donovan stood out; he appeared energetic, eager to advance, and played effectively as a right fullback.

“Additionally, there was a young talent, Francis Turley, who operated in a more advanced role and actively participated in the play.

“All of these players made significant contributions during the matches I observed. They were impressive, displaying confidence, solid defensive skills, and purposeful attacking play.

“It will be intriguing to see their next steps—whether they will go out on loan or play a role in the team’s future plans.”

Like Grant, I believe many Celtic supporters will be eager to witness the progress of these players in the upcoming season under Rodgers.

In my view, Anderson possesses the greatest potential for a breakthrough into the first team. With Rodgers yet to recruit another left-back, the Celtic manager may consider the 21-year-old an ideal backup for Taylor.

Turley and Donovan are expected to continue their growth within the Celtic B team; however, if all three maintain their rapid development, they could emerge as significant contributors to the Celtic first team in the years to come.
