Southampton and Real Sociedad are interested in a Newcastle United transfer target following criticism from the player’s agent towards Bundesliga clubs.

The latest transfer news from St James Park reveals that Newcastle United is actively seeking new additions to their squad for the summer transfer window.

Youssoufa Moukoko, a former transfer target of Newcastle United, has caught the attention of Southampton, Real Sociedad, and Champions League newcomers Girona. The 19-year-old forward, who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund, is rapidly approaching his 100th appearance for the Bundesliga giants. Moukoko made his senior debut as a substitute for Erling Haaland, now a star at Manchester City, in a 5-2 victory against Hertha Berlin in November 2020. He then made his Champions League debut against Zenit Saint Petersburg in December of the same year, before becoming the youngest ever goalscorer in the Bundesliga with a goal against Union Berlin.

Despite his achievements, Moukoko’s playing time has been limited, making only six starts in all competitions last season. There were rumors suggesting that Newcastle was interested in signing him to bolster their forward options. However, Moukoko’s agent, Patrick Williams, has criticized Borussia Dortmund for not fulfilling promises made during negotiations for a new contract in January 2023.

In an interview with journalist Fabrizio Romano, Williams expressed his dissatisfaction with the Bundesliga club.
