Turkish club Alanyaspor is reportedly in discussions with Luton Town regarding the potential transfer of Andros Townsend, as shared by journalist Resat Can Ozbudak.
After missing the entire 2022/23 season due to injury, the 33-year-old winger was released from Everton and found himself without a club. He briefly joined Burnley on trial but the move fell through, leaving him without a team at the start of last season.
Luton Town then came forward and signed Townsend on a short-term contract in October. He played a significant role under manager Rob Edwards before Christmas, which led to him securing a longer deal.
Although Luton Town’s stay in the Premier League ended in May, their performances earned praise from the media and supporters. They are set to begin their Championship campaign next month as one of the favorites for promotion, as they have managed to retain the majority of their squad.
During this summer, Ross Barkley, Ryan Giles, Gabriel Osho, and Luke Berry have all left the club. There are also reports that Tahith Chong is attracting interest from clubs across Europe, with Luton Town reportedly placing a £10 million price tag on him.
While attention seems to be focused on Chong’s future, news of Townsend’s potential transfer seems to have gone unnoticed.
