Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon may not have the chance to team up with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah if he does not transfer to Anfield this summer. Last month, there were reports that Newcastle offered Gordon to Liverpool in a deal involving Jarell Quansah moving to Tyneside. The Magpies needed to address their PSR concerns, which they eventually did by selling Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh to Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion, respectively. Liverpool had no interest in letting Quansah go the other way, and the proposed swap deal appeared to fall through. However, Gordon is admired by Liverpool, and he was reportedly tempted by the idea of returning to the club he supported as a child. If Gordon does not make the move to Anfield this summer, he could miss the opportunity to play alongside Mohamed Salah, one of his favorite players. Salah has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent years, and he will be 33 years old in the upcoming 2025/26 season. Despite Liverpool rejecting offers for Salah last summer, it is possible that teams from the Saudi Pro League will continue to pursue him in the future. Gordon has previously praised Salah, describing him as “an absolute machine and a winner.” In an interview with Gary Neville on ‘The Overlap’ earlier this year, Gordon emphasized the importance of preparation in boosting his confidence.
