The Tigers are aiming for their fifth consecutive victory and a clean sweep of the Blue Jays.

The Detroit Tigers, who have had success against the Toronto Blue Jays this season, are aiming for a three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon.

After winning 3 out of 4 games against the Blue Jays in May, the Tigers are now looking to extend their winning streak to a season high-tying fifth straight win following a 7-3 victory on Saturday.

For the series finale, the Blue Jays have scheduled right-hander Kevin Gausman (7-8, 4.50 ERA) to start. Gausman has a career record of 3-3 with a 3.22 ERA in 12 starts against the Tigers. He has also performed well against them this season, with a 1-0 record and a 1.50 ERA in one start.

On the other hand, the Tigers will have right-hander Keider Montero (1-2, 5.47 ERA) on the mound, who will be facing the Blue Jays for the first time.

Unfortunately, the Blue Jays will be missing their shortstop, Bo Bichette, due to a right calf injury. Bichette was placed on the injured list on Saturday after suffering a moderate calf strain. Toronto manager John Schneider confirmed that Bichette will be out for multiple weeks. Bichette had previously missed the final four games before the All-Star break with a sore calf and left Friday’s series opener after six innings. Leo Jimenez replaced him but went 0-for-3 on Saturday.

Bichette had also been on the injured list last month due to right calf soreness. In 79 games this season, he has a batting average of .223, an on-base percentage of .276, and a slugging percentage of .321, with seven home runs and 30 RBIs.

The Tigers have their own concerns as well, as right-hander Reese Olson left his start on Saturday after two innings due to a sore right shoulder. Olson will return to Detroit for examination as the Tigers continue their seven-game road trip with four more games to play.
