Wakefield Trinity had their first-ever Championship loss, falling 32-4 to Doncaster at home, while Featherstone Rovers suffered a loss at home against Doncaster.
At the beginning of the 2024 season, the French team spectacularly stopped Trin’s remarkable run of 15 straight league triumphs on Saturday night, leading 20-0 at halftime with to tries from Olly Ashall-Bott and Paul Ulberg.
Even though Wakefield made a comeback after the break when Derrell Olpherts scored his 11th try in as many games, Toulouse added two more tries—a double from Ulberg and Reuben Rennie—to secure a well-earned victory.
With their win, Toulouse is now seven points adrift of the league leaders in second place. But if the Sheffield Eagles defeat the Barrow Raiders later on Sunday, Wakefield’s lead at the top may be reduced to six points.

Next Sunday, July 28, Daryl Powell’s team will play the neighbours Featherstone Rovers in an attempt to get back to winning ways.
After losing to Doncaster at home yesterday, Rovers will also be looking for a strong showing at the DIY Kitchens Stadium.
Thanks to touchdowns from Brad Hey and Reece Lyne, as well as a double from Bureta Faraimo, the South Yorkshire team won 24-12 at the Millennium Stadium.
Fev answered with tries by Connor Wynne and Brad Day.
It’s looking like a great West Yorkshire derby, with both Rovers and Trin hoping for a response next Saturday.
