Key Celtic player has given ‘green light’ to long term move elsewhere as Celtic exit speculation continues

Rumors about Matt O’Riley leaving Celtic this summer have been rampant as the Hoops midfielder continues to attract interest from various suitors.

O’Riley has been a revelation since joining Celtic in 2022, playing a key role in securing three league titles, two Scottish Cups, and two League Cups.

A bargain buy under Ange Postecoglou, Matt O’Riley enjoyed his best season ever at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers, scoring 19 goals and creating 18 assists. His incredible form earned him the Young Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, and Player of the Year awards. Now, it seems he is set for a move away from Celtic this summer.

Atalanta are reportedly “pushing for” O’Riley, with a report on GianlucaDiMarzio.com stating that he has already agreed to a move to the Serie A side.

To get more details, 67 Hail Hail reached out to journalist Luca Bendoni on X, who provided an update on the situation with the 23-year-old Celtic midfielder.

Bendoni stated, “The second offer [from Atalanta] was around £15m and that was, of course, rejected. Celtic are expecting a much higher fee. Atalanta are negotiating as Matt O’Riley is their top target for the midfield. They are pushing for him.”
