One topic that has come up multiple times already this summer is Allan Campbell, our Scottish midfielder, and his future.
It appeared that the majority of supporters believed the midfielder would be leaving the club for Kenilworth Road in two articles from back in June: “Midfielders-future-questioned” and “Hatters-support-predict-another-midfielder-will-be-leaving-the-club” that discussed the results of a related poll.
The local media outlet, Lincoln Today, has reported that Campbell is searching for a new club, allaying such anxieties.
Allan’s manager, Rob Edwards, has confirmed the 26-year-old will be leaving despite any rumors that he might revive his career following our return to the EFL Championship. The boss was quoted by our cited source as saying: “Al will be moving on, but at the moment, he’s training, he’s here with us and that’s brilliant as we love having him around.”
“Allan is a terrific man and an incredible professional, but he needs to resume playing football and advance in his career. These are challenging choices. We constantly make an effort to treat individuals with honesty and with respect.
Training with your current coworkers must be an odd experience, but you have to acknowledge that it’s just a stopgap till you receive offers.
It will be interesting to see where Allan ends up. Does anyone think he might wind up back in Scotland, or maybe Charlton Athletic and a reunion with Nathan Jones?
No matter where Allan ends up, I’m sure we will all never forget the goal he scored against Watford in April 2023 and the ensuing celebrations
