Breaking News:ESPN: Vikings Should Have Best Weapons Arsenal in NFL

The Minnesota Vikings have a number of unanswered questions at quarterback going into the 2024 NFL season. It’s hard to say for sure if Sam Darnold will have a Baker Mayfield-esque comeback or falter like he did with the Jets and Panthers. Do the Vikings need J.J. McCarthy, or is he the genuine deal?

Those answers will come to us in due course. However, whoever does play quarterback should have a sizable offensive weaponry. The only team in the league boasting a Justin Jefferson player is the Vikings.

It wasn’t even fair to select Jordan Addison in the first round last spring because of this. Add two professional bowlers: Aaron Jones (RB) and T.J. Hockenson (TE). You have a fairly little arsenal of weaponry, isn’t that right?

The Minnesota Vikings offense, according to ESPN, has THE weapons group.

That’s what longtime ESPN NFL analyst Bill Barnwell believes. He actually thought that the top four offensive players on the Vikings (RB1, WR1, WR2, and TE1) were the best five in all of football. Do you find that impressive? In fact, according to Barnwell, they SHOULD be higher.

He notes that Justin Jefferson and the team ought to be at the top of his list as he wraps up the Minnesota Vikings section. If he knew that 29-year-old running back Aaron Jones, who played just 11 games for the Packers last season due to injuries, will be available to KOC for all 17 weeks in 2024, that is, at least, where he would have them. TJ Hockenson is expected to be available on week one.

“Aaron Jones, who turns 30 in December, missed six games last season despite being an effective player behind a dynamic offensive line in Green Bay for years. In the meantime, T.J. Hockenson tore both his ACL and MCL, and surgery to repair the damage wasn’t available until late January. Although Hockenson is expected to open the season on PUP and Jones has only had one full season in his previous four attempts, both players have great upside when they are on the field. The Vikings would be ranked #1 if they could get 17 games out of their top four playmakers. Their upside is limited because Hockenson only played for about a half of the season to begin with.

For precisely this reason, supporters of Sam Darnold are still optimistic about the Minnesota Vikings’ chances in 2024–2025. The 26-year-old former third overall pick should have an easy life with an assortment of weapons and an offensive-minded head coach if he still possesses elite quarterback talent.

And before this offseason ends, it’s still extremely likely that Kwesi adds another wide receiver for him. However, the Vikings are projected to finish far and away from last in the NFC North by bookies and websites like PFF. We’ll find out soon enough, as Training Camp is in just two weeks.
