Gabe Osho, a young reader, has moved to France and Ligue 1 after choosing not to renew his contract with Luton Town. The 25-year-old progressed through the ranks of the Royals and made 10 first-team appearances before deciding to leave his childhood club in 2020.
Upon joining Kenilworth Road, the center-back played a crucial role in their Premier League promotion campaign and became a legend for scoring a late winning goal against rivals Watford. With 85 appearances for the Hatters, Osho has now transferred to Auxerre, a team recently promoted to the top division of French football.
Despite Osho’s departure, Luton Town still has a strong connection to Reading, as Tom Holmes and Taylan Harris joined the club in January. Osho signed a one-year contract with the option of extending for a second year to stay in central France.
Manager Rob Edwards expressed his gratitude towards Gabe for his contributions to the club and wished him success. He mentioned that players like Osho, who played a significant role in the club’s recent achievements, will always be welcomed back.
