Alvaro Morata has decided to depart from Atletico Madrid, just seven days after he had previously confirmed his intention to remain with the club.

Alvaro Morata recently turned down a move to Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed his commitment to Atletico Madrid. However, it now appears increasingly likely that he will depart from the club in the near future.

Samu Omorodion expressed his gratitude towards the support he received from both the fans and the club, emphasizing the trust they have in him as a player.

Despite Morata’s initial decision to stay, reports have surfaced regarding AC Milan’s interest in the striker. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who holds a director role at Milan, has reportedly convinced Morata to join the club.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Morata has agreed to the move to Milan, with the deal expected to progress after Euro 2024. Milan is set to pay Morata’s release clause of €13m and offer him a three-year contract worth €12m in total. This potential transfer would necessitate Atletico Madrid to find a replacement striker this summer following Memphis Depay’s departure.
