Breaking News: Gold-en signing for Linnets Lynn

For a second stint at the Walks, King’s Lynn brings in the former striker for Wrexham, Yeovil, AFC Fylde, and Kidderminster Harriers.

In an attempt to reintroduce Gold Omotayo to the Walks, King’s Lynn Town has struck.

After an outstanding two years in Norfolk, where his goals propelled Lynn into the National League North play-offs in 2022–2023—the powerful striker will be well-known to Linnets supporters.

Omotayo was selected for the league’s Team of the Season after scoring 25 goals, 22 of which came in the National League.

Gold Omotayo is back with King's Lynn Town for a second spell at the Walks.

After being signed by AFC Fylde in the summer of 2023, the former Yeovil and Wrexham player scored three goals for the Coasters in the previous campaign.

Then, for an undisclosed amount, he switched to Kidderminster Harriers in a contract that lasted until the end of the 2024–25 season.

Adam Lakeland, the manager of the Linnets, stated: “I’m thrilled to have Gold rejoin the team.

“In his final season here, he became one of the division’s most feared frontmen, scoring over 20 goals in a campaign.

“Gold has the qualities to play with all of our front players, but he is different from them.

He is a favorite of the crowd and a great addition to a group that is starting to look really strong.

“Goals are necessary to compete in this league, and we have added another proven goal scorer in Gold. I am excited to work with him.”

Omotayo is happy to be back. He is most likely most known for his late winner in an FA Cup first-round victory at Doncaster.

It feels nice to be back. The past few weeks have been really busy, he remarked.

I eventually had to go where my heart told me to go.

“Playing for someone that values you is the most important thing for a football player, which is why I’ve returned home.

“We spoke a lot in the off-season and we spoke previously to be fair and it just showed me that he was really committed to getting me here.”
