Legendary Rangers striker Kenny Miller finds it difficult to ignore the similarities between himself and Alfredo Morelos. Back in 2017, when Morelos made his £1 million move to Ibrox, few people on the blue side of Glasgow had even heard of him. However, over the course of five years, Morelos established himself as a crucial player in the club’s history, particularly during their Scottish Premiership title success under Steven Gerrard. His performances in Europe also contributed to many memorable nights under the floodlights. Given Morelos’ impact, his signing at such a low cost will surely be remembered as one of the best in the club’s history.

Now, with the arrival of Hamza Igamane on a £1.7 million deal, Miller wonders if he can make a similar impression. However, he remains cautious and is not getting carried away just yet. Igamane is a young, promising, and somewhat unexpected addition to British football, much like Morelos was when he first arrived.

Rangers have confirmed the signing of Hamza Igamane from RAF Rabat. According to Miller, Igamane has the potential to become a legendary number nine at Ibrox and make a significant impact. However, he also acknowledges that the 21-year-old Moroccan player will need time to adapt and settle in. Comparisons have been drawn between Igamane and Alfredo Morelos, who also faced challenges when he first arrived at the club.

Director Nils Koppen emphasized Igamane’s ‘skill and determination’ and referred to him as an ‘exciting young talent’ in an interview with the official website of the Rangers when the transfer was confirmed.
