Martin Dubravka has responded to rumors about his future and James Trafford’s connection to Newcastle United. Martin Dubravka claims he doesn’t give a damn about the speculation over his future at Newcastle United. The 35-year-old’s future is seriously in doubt since the Magpies are interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford. There are rumors that United and the England player have already reached a personal agreement before making a new offer.
In response to a question concerning his ties to Trafford, the Slovakian said reporters in his native country that he “doesn’t care what happens anymore.”
“It’s hard for me to comment on that, because I get information about who we are signing from the newspaper,” he said to Sportnet. To be honest, I don’t really care anymore what occurs. I worked hard for the club and stood up for my position.
“I will no longer have any say in the matter if they choose to bring someone else. I’m trying to focus on the national team right now, so I’m putting this aside for now. I cleared my mind of the remainder. Even though he started much of the previous season, Dubravka is still United’s backup goalkeeper as Nick Pope lost five months due to a dislocated shoulder. But Dubravka would probably slide farther down the hierarchy if Trafford—or anybody else, for that matter—arrived.
The former Sparta Prague shotstopper has been heavily linked with a move abroad due to the possibility of falling to third choice and the fact that he is approaching the last 12 months of his contract.
The newest team to be connected to Dubravka is Celtic, but he declined to comment, saying, “I am mentally prepared for the national team. I am conscious of a variety of noises, though. “Agents call me, and teammates ask me about it.” That does have some validity. That also held some truth from the previous year. You see, though, I remained with Newcastle United. “I don’t deal with anything if there isn’t an actual offer on the table. Even when I was still in Sparta, that was my interpretation of it. Everything is merely at the noise stage right now. Dubravka joined Newcastle six and a half years ago, with the exception of 2022–2023 when he was on loan at Manchester United for half the season.
