Danny Mills is of the opinion that Leeds United will need to perform exceptionally well in order to defeat Norwich City in their Championship play-off semi-final second leg match tonight.
Following a goalless draw at Carrow Road on Sunday, Leeds will now face a packed stadium in South Yorkshire as they aim for a potential trip to Wembley later this month.
Despite having secured victories against David Wagner’s team in both home and away matches during the regular season, Leeds will be without striker Patrick Bamford due to injury. However, Connor Roberts and Dan James are expected to be included in the squad after recovering from recent injuries.
Mills, a former Leeds player, anticipates that the support from the Elland Road crowd could play a crucial role tonight, especially since Leeds are now considered favorites to win on their home turf.
According to the 46-year-old, “It’s not a foregone conclusion, who can handle the pressure. Elland Road is one of the best atmospheres when it’s rocking, lights are on. The atmosphere is second to none. But that comes with added pressure. You can get a few moans and groans. Home form is great. Everything points to a Leeds win. But I’ve seen Leeds in the play-offs, Bielsa against Derby, it can fall apart in a split second. I hope Leeds don’t crumble.”
