The manager of one of their targets has acknowledged that he is “asking” to leave the club this summer, which has given Wolves an advantage in their pursuit of him.

O’Neill wishing for a shift

Gary O’Neill, the manager of Wolves, took over the team just a few days before the Premier League season started, but he is eager to improve even more next year. Wolves are now in midtable.

The English manager has acknowledged that there is still a lot of uncertainty going into the summer, but he is reportedly close to signing a new deal at Molineux.”It goes without saying that I hope we can all get on the same page and move things in the direction we all want to go.”

However, I’m not completely sure how much we’ll be able to do or how much of my ideas and some of the things I look to do over the summer will be feasible given the financial circumstances until those kinds of discussions have occurred for the club.

If no one leaves, I don’t think we’ll have any money.

“There are players out on loan that have value that we might be able to do some bits with, so if we decided not to sell a big player, there might be some little bits and pieces that we can do.”

This summer, moves away from the Old Gold have been linked to Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri, while Max Kilman is rumoured to be on Manchester United’s radar. If any of the three go, the club will probably receive enormous compensation, which they may use to bolster the roster.

Bento in the spotlight

Bento, the custodian for Athletico Paranaense, who has shown promise in the Brazilian top division and is anticipated to go this summer, had previously been linked to Wolves. They now have more momentum on that front after his own management acknowledged that he is likely to go.

Cuca disclosed to the media following their most recent match, in which the Brazil international saved a penalty, that the goalie is requesting to be let go.

Thankfully or unfortunately, Bento will soon leave us. He’s requesting a ticket [out of Brazil], and that’s what the players want—a spot in Europe where they can build up savings and compete in the major international tournaments. He deserves it,” he remarked.

Bento, who is currently only making £18,000 a week in Brazil, will probably earn at least twice that much when he relocates to Europe.

Wolves will have to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Serie A winners Inter Milan should they wish to sign him, but an uncontested top spot might be able to persuade him to choose the Midlands team over both teams.

But before Wolves take any action, they probably need to sell players, which could give other teams the advantage.
