Celtic youngster Bosun Lawal told to seek Parkhead exit as EFL trio eye summer transfer battle

Bosun Lawal has received advice that his future prospects would be more promising if he were to leave Celtic, as several EFL clubs are reportedly interested in signing the talented Irishman next summer.

Lawal, who is currently 20 years old, joined Celtic from Watford’s youth setup in the summer of 2021. He quickly established himself as a regular starter for the club’s B team in the Lowland League. Although he only made one appearance in a Scottish Cup match against Morton in January 2023 under the management of Ange Postecoglou, Lawal was subsequently loaned out for the entire season to Fleetwood Town, where he was signed by former Celtic captain and then-manager Scott Brown.

Despite Fleetwood Town’s relegation to the English fourth tier and the subsequent sackings of both Brown and his successor Lee Johnson during the campaign, Lawal has been an outstanding performer. He has scored six goals and provided two assists in 42 league matches for the team, which is now managed by former Rangers and Scotland player Charlie Adam.
