Peter Grant acknowledges that he is not taken aback by Brendan Rodgers and Philippe Clement not being considered for Manager of the Year. Even though a potential treble is still within reach, neither the Celtic nor Rangers boss are in contention for the Scottish PFA’s top boss award. The trio nominated for the award are Derek McInnes from Kilmarnock, Tony Docherty from Dundee, and the possible invincible Bairn John McGlynn. This is the first time since the 2018/19 season that neither head coach from Glasgow’s top two teams have been in the running, as Steve Clarke claimed the prize that year after leading Kilmarnock to a third-place finish before taking charge of the Scottish national team. When asked on GO Radio if he was surprised by the exclusions, Grant responded, “I am not surprised. Considering the challenges they have faced, particularly with home games, their current run has been remarkable. They have experienced losses and dropped points, lacking the necessary consistency.”
