John Hartson isn’t too happy with Fabio Silva after he let a goal slip away for Rangers against Hearts over the weekend.
After appearing to dive under no challenge against Hearts over the weekend in search of a penalty, Rangers striker Fabio Silva was reprimanded once more for his antics. Celtic great John Hartson called his diving behavior “embarrassing”. Silva had already made a number of enemies in the Scottish game after going down incredibly easy in the Old Firm derby against Celtic at the beginning of April, only to be encouraged to do so again after VAR overturned the original booking for a dive in the box, which resulted in an Alistair Johnston foul and a chance that James Tavernier converted from 12 yards.
Although many are unhappy with his behavior, Silva cemented his contentious reputation this past weekend at Hampden Park against Hearts. Even though there was no one nearby, Silva appeared to fall dramatically in search of a penalty as striking partner Cyriel Dessers danced down the byline and squared the ball for him. Even though Hartson called Silva “embarrassing,” fans and commentators continued to dwell on the incident, despite the fact that Hartson might have only felt a slight injury.
