Harry Maguire thought back on Man United’s celebrations following their victory against Coventry City in the FA Cup semifinal.

On Sunday, United defeated their Championship rivals at Wembley, but the win wasn’t without drama as they blew a three-goal lead before winning 4-2 on penalties.

In extra time, USA scorer Haji Wright was just offside when he squared to Victor Torp to score, and Coventry also had a goal disallowed by VAR.

The tumultuous match concluded the Red Devils’ most recent lackluster showing and appalling collapse in a season beset by issues on and off the field.

The majority of United’s players refrained from overindulging in celebration after Rasmus Hojlund converted the game-winning penalty, with players such as Maguire approaching Coventry’s players to offer consolation, shake hands, and express gratitude.

“It was crazy to be involved in the way the game went,” he said to Sky Sports.Considering the range of emotions you experienced over the course of the two or three hours from the game’s beginning to its conclusion, I believe you are simply experiencing a small sense of relief.

We didn’t need to celebrate too much, in my opinion. We betrayed ourselves in the final 20 minutes of regular time, and since playing for this team entails a great deal of responsibility, we failed to accept accountability during the final 20 minutes of play.

However, as I previously stated, we were unhappy with how we behaved when the game ended.

Despite the win, Ten Hag and United faced a great deal of criticism, which prompted the Dutchman to call the media “embarrassing.”

In actuality, though, the Red Devils’ season has been terrible, since they haven’t been able to build on their successes from Ten Hag’s first season at the team, which included winning the Carabao Cup and placing third.

They were eliminated not just from the Carabao Cup in the fourth round but also from the Champions League in the group stage.

Ten Hag’s team has won 15 and lost 12 league games this season, demonstrating their troubles and inconsistency, and they are currently 16 points outside of the Champions League berths, making it almost certain that they will miss out on the top four.

Their one-goal deficit only serves to highlight the challenging campaign United is having and the struggle they face to even make the Europa Conference League.

Ten Hag is under a lot of pressure because of this, and there are rumors that new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who was there at Wembley with Avram Glazer, may try to replace him this summer. The defender asserted that Erik ten Hag’s rumors have no bearing on the players.

But Maguire emphasized that the players are unaffected by all the rumors circulating about the Dutchman.

The defender continued, “I’ve been at this club long enough to know that the noise around here is always here, whether it’s with the manager or the players.”

“Players are under tremendous pressure, and when teams lose games or have poor seasons, the manager feels the heat as well.”

We all understand that it’s important to be together and focused on our season’s goals. We think there are still things we can accomplish this season.
