After Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final, Fabrizio Romano acknowledges that he was taken aback by what he saw, with Manchester United’s Antony making a gesture in the direction of the Coventry City players. The Red Devils surrendered a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 before winning on penalties, therefore it was quite fortunate for them to overcome the Championship team and get to the FA Cup final.
It seems like a serious mistake in judgment for Antony to then be provoking the Coventry players, and this is not the kind of behavior you would expect from players at a team like Manchester United.
Romano, who spoke exclusively to CaughtOffside for his most recent Daily Briefing piece, acknowledged that he thought Antony’s actions were unexpected. However, he didn’t elaborate on whether or not the Brazil international will be contacted by anyone at the team.
The behavior of Antony surprises Fabrizio. Romano
Antony’s tenure at Manchester United has not been good.
After Sunday’s game, Romano said, “I’ve had some fans asking me about the club’s response to his gesture at Coventry City players. As previously mentioned, the Antony transfer situation could also be one to watch this summer.”
“I don’t really like to get involved in these things, so I don’t know exactly what happened, but it was surprising to see that gesture. I also don’t know how the club has responded or if anyone will be speaking with him about it.”
