Casemiro breaks silence and claims one Man Utd star played against Coventry City with injury, he put in a real shift

Casemiro disclosed that during the Red Devils’ valiant FA Cup victory over Coventry City on Sunday, one of his teammates at Manchester United was sidelined with an injury.

After defeating Coventry City on penalties in the semi-finals to book their spot in the FA Cup final, Manchester United will make a return trip to Wembley next month.

A 3-0 lead was overcome by Mark Robins’ Coventry team late in the second half, resulting in extra time being played at Wembley in this exciting FA Cup match.

Thanks to penalties, United prevailed over the opposition and weathered the storm of extra time, saving a late defeat with the help of VAR.

Casemiro, who was United’s defenseman in the FA Cup match, took the field first in the shootout but was unable to score the Red Devils’ spot kick.

But Diogo Dalot, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and Rasmus Hojlund all scored from their penalties to guarantee United’s 4-2 victory over Coventry.

Meanwhile, Callum O’Hare’s spot-kick attempt was expertly stopped by United No. 1 André Onana, and Ben Sheaf missed his penalty kick for Coventry in the shootout.

About Man Utd star’s injury, Casemiro

Due to an injury issue in his squad, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was obliged to start Casemiro as a temporary center-back for the match against Coventry City.

The only senior United center-back available to Ten Hag was Harry Maguire; the other players were Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Rafael Varane, and Willy Kambwala.

Despite receiving criticism this season for his declining impact in midfield, Casemiro did win over supporters with his valiant defensive effort against Coventry in the first half.

Alongside Harry Maguire in defense, the 32-year-old Brazilian midfielder made an impression with his all-around performance in the FA Cup match.

After disclosing that former club captain Maguire was playing the game despite an injury, Casemiro complimented his United teammate.

According to the Metro, he said to TNT Sports, “Today, I played as a defender.”

Six defenders are on our team. Harry Maguire (H) suffered an injury.

“He was hurt during this game. He’s been hurt since the start [of the game]. In the previous game, he was hurt.

“I was a central defender in my game. I’m not sure how many different players have injured us.

“I believe there is never going to be a justification for a team with that many players.” However, it hurts in the end.

On Man United vs. Coventry City, Casemiro

If the Dutchman wins the FA Cup against United’s crosstown rivals, Ten Hag might still end the season on a positive note.

The United manager nearly led his team to the FA Cup the previous year, but in the end, City defeated the Red Devils 2-1 at Wembley in 2023.

After United’s surrender during regular play, despite leading 3-0, Casemiro argued that United “lost control” of the match against Coventry.

It’s difficult to describe. It resembles our team this season somewhat, he remarked.

Extremely high and low points in one game. It was a quiet, well-managed game that lasted for maybe seventy-five minutes.

Next, a terrified team. It’s always the team, in my opinion. A panic among one or two players is not the cause.

“The game slipped out of our hands. These highs and lows are really difficult to experience.
