Manchester United is reportedly considering a surprise approach for AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, and they are willing to spend £51 million for him, according to Spanish daily Fichajes.

In the context of international football, Theo Hernandez is a true superstar. The French left-back has become a sought-after asset for all of the best European teams due to his impressive performances over the last few years.

Theo, who plays left defence most of the time, has shown his versatility this season by successfully filling in as a centre back several times. He has made 38 appearances this season, tallying five goals and ten assists.

Victor Lindelof has been Erik ten Hag’s go-to left-back replacement due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The Swedish international, who plays centre back by trade, appears to be incredibly uneasy when asked to cover left defence.

Even though it would be ideal for AC Milan to keep this highly valued asset, contractual obligations may force a sale this summer. It comes as no surprise that PSG is interested in signing the gifted French defender.

In world football, Theo Hernandez is one of the best options available for an aggressive full-back. With a guy like the Frenchman in their defence, Erik ten Hag would benefit greatly.

Manchester United has their eyes set on AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez.

Malacia and Luke Shaw are anticipated to return next summer, although the former is getting older, and it’s unclear how the latter will cope following such a horrific injury ordeal. When it comes to the Red Devils, an upgrading might be imperative.

Theo is in a perfect position to take his career to the next level at age 26. He is anticipated to be a key member of France’s Euro squad. However, a top-tier transfer might be in the works before the upcoming campaign.
