Rangers: Michael Beale reacts on Sky amid 'Shock' development

Michael Beale has explained why he believes he ultimately failed at Ibrox and acknowledged that he was taken aback when he was handed the Rangers position.

when only five months at QPR, where things quickly became poisonous when he departed, Beale stayed on as head coach for just under a year before departing in October 2023 due to a dismal start to the season, having oversaw a roster revamp during the summer transfer window.

And on Good Friday, 29 March, Beale said on the Sky Sports Soccer Special that he believes he “changed too much, too soon” with the team, which is what cost him his job.

“I live in that region of the world and I have a great deal of respect for Rangers,” he remarked. It’s an amazing football team.

“I revisited the previous season.” To be asked to go is quite unexpected, as I thought Gio van Bronckhorst performed an excellent job. However, when you’re asked to return to Rangers, a team that has special meaning for me, the bonds we shared were immediate.

“We were already nine points behind Postecoglou’s Celtic, who were playing really well.”

It’s fair to argue that, coming into the season, we may have upset the group too much, too quickly, and there was a lot of player turnover, both inside and outside the team. However, I believe Phil Clement has made a great start.

“They have the ability to win that league in the future. I always thought that would happen, and it has already won the League Cup.

The Rangers were correct to fire Michael Beale.

It is important to remember that many people were happy that Beale was chosen to take the management position when he was first hired.

He also performed admirably at Ibrox for the most part, but the problem was that he lacked the experience to adjust and lead his team to victory in crucial games, thus he was always falling short.

After failing to connect with the supporters, he has since battled at Sunderland as well, but he never really had that problem at Ibrox, and once the dust has cleared a little more, he should be welcomed back with open arms.

Although many fans brought up his admission of making poor choices in terms of hiring and team composition both during and after his departure, it is encouraging to see him take responsibility for his actions.

Rangers made the right choice in severing relations because they have since moved on and are under significantly superior leadership under Philippe Clement.
