The Celtic boss is not unduly concerned about Scotland’s precarious Champions League situation in which an automatic place is in jeopardy with all of our teams out of Europe for the remainder of the campaign.
Czech Republic will overtake Scotland in the co-efficient rankings if Viktoria Plzen even manage a draw in the two legs of their Euro Conference League quarter-final against Italian cracks Fiorentina.
A stalemate – or, of course, a win – in the first meeting at home on April 11 or in Florence a week later will mean the Premiership title winners would be forced to qualify again from season 2025/26.
Rodgers, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “For us, it’s about getting there whichever way it is achieved.
“We need to try to work the co-efficient as best we can to get our teams in.
“Yeah, you’d want the place to be here, but we shall wait and see.”
The Hoops gaffer’s focus at the moment is to win the next eight league games to make certain the Parkhead men are victorious in their bid for a twelfth title in 13 years.
The Parkhead outfit are a point ahead at the moment having played one more match than their nearest challengers. The champions take on Livingston in West Lothian on Sunday, 24 hours after Philippe Clement’s side face Hibs at Ibrox.
The third derby of the term is secheduled for Govan a week on Sunday.
