Rangers have offered John Lundstram a new contract but talks over a new deal have stalled, sources have told Football Insider. The 30-year-old is set to become a free agent in the summer when his contract expires.
Sources say that Gers are still hopeful that Lundstram will extend his stay at Ibrox but there are fears that he is waiting for potential offers from Premier League clubs.
Lundstram is currently one of the top earners in Philippe Clement’s squad with a wage over £20,000 per week.
As revealed by Football Insider (11 March), Clement is personally pushing to get a deal over the line for Lundstram but the midfielder is keen to weigh up his options this summer.
The Rangers boss is a huge admirer of Lundstram and he has publicly praised the midfielder for his impact both on and off the pitch.
“He is a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch. You need someone like that,” Clement said in December.
He has made 144 appearances for Rangers across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting seven.
Lundstram has been one of the first names on the teamsheet this season having appeared in all but two games in the 2023-24 campaign.
