The announcement that Manchester United would face Coventry City in the FA Cup semifinals was met with applause at Old Trafford.

After shocking everyone by defeating Premier League Wolves in the quarterfinals, the Sky Blues will take on the Red Devils in the tournament’s final four at Wembley next month. The other semifinal matchup features Chelsea and Manchester City, the victors from the previous year.

Additionally, the Press Association reports that when the draw was announced on Sunday and United escaped both Chelsea and Man City, applause could be heard from suites surrounding Old Trafford.Despite Coventry’s significant disadvantage vs United, Bruno Fernandes, their captain, has stated that the Red Devils would not be taking anything for granted.

Wolves defeated them, but clearly we’re playing a Championship team rather than a Premier League team, Fernandes remarked. “We don’t want to put ourselves in the same league as Wolves, but we have to respect every team that plays here. I remember two seasons ago, we lost at home to Middlesbrough.”

“We have to treat them with the decency they deserve, show them our best effort, and approach the game with the same mindset as we did against Liverpool.”
