Ipswich Town latest: Bad Wes Burns news, Omari Hutchinson on Portman Road future

Strong candidates for promotion to the Premier League include Ipswich Town.

After being promoted automatically to the Championship the previous season, the Suffolk team has been in outstanding form all season long and now find themselves in the midst of another exciting promotion campaign, this time to the top level.

The Tractor Boys did experience a little setback recently, but they seem to be back on track as they now trail Leeds United by one point in the league after winning seven of their previous eight Championship games.

Defeating relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday by a score of six goals to nil on Saturday, Ipswich secured their most comprehensive win of the year. In addition to Cameron Burgess and Nathan Broadhead, Omari Hutchinson and January acquisition Ali Al-Hamadi each scored a brace.

The Tractor Boys had a successful afternoon, and with eight games left, they will have plenty of optimism as they aim for the automatic promotion spots.

Devastating Wes Burns news

Wes Burns

Ipswich Town had an exciting afternoon, but the team received some unfortunate news when Wes Burns was replaced in the first half due to an injury. He had a very brilliant start to the game, setting up Ipswich’s first goal, but sadly, his 38-minute appearance came to an end.

When questioned about the extent of Burns’ injury after the game, manager Kieran McKenna said, “It doesn’t look great, it’s a hamstring.”

“It doesn’t seem minor, and neither do I think it feels minor.” That is without a doubt the low point of today, but we will examine and evaluate it over the course of the next few days.”

“In the dressing room, everyone is heartbroken for Wes, and we’re just crossing our fingers that the severity isn’t as bad as it could be.”

Given how important he is to the team, Ipswich will be hoping he returns before the season ends. His absence for the rest of the season could be disastrous for Ipswich’s chances of promotion, as he has been one of their top offensive players this season.

Happy after Sheffield Wednesday’s triumph, Vaclav Hladky

The custodian for Ipswich will have been happy to record his 12th clean sheet of the season, but more than that, he was impressed with the total effort and outcome.

After the game, he commented, “At the end of the day, it looks like an easy game but you have to go from minute one and you have to go through some difficulties, which there were,”

It was crucial that the team go back to winning ways right away and maintain their automatic promotion status following their devastating loss to Cardiff the previous weekend, which they accomplished flawlessly.

“Coming in at 6-0 is a great start and the best way we could end the block (of games).” The team’s response was excellent. Losing a game in extra time is never easy.

“We learnt from the previous game, we start again and it was a great day for everybody.”

In 2000, the Tractor Boys signed Hermann Hreidarsson, and they hit gold.

As the season draws to a close, the win puts Ipswich in third place in the Championship, one point behind Leeds and Leicester. However, Hladky is only thinking ahead to their next match, which is on Good Friday when they visit Blackburn.

We glance at the table, of course, but our main goal is to move on and be ready for the next game. We’ve been doing it the entire season, and we definitely want to continue doing it for the final eight games. We’ll see where it gets us.

Due to his tremendous season-long play while on loan from Chelsea, many people are wondering if the 20-year-old will play again next year. Although Hutchinson hasn’t always been in the starting lineup, his seven goals and six assists indicate that he makes a huge contribution when he does play.

He participated for the entire ninety minutes on Saturday, when Ipswich thrashed Sheffield Wednesday and he scored twice. When his loan agreement expired, he was questioned by the media about maybe returning the following season after full-time.

“I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s going to be tough. However, perhaps—I hope so.”

“Listen, I’m not able to let you know where I’m playing. We’ll find out in the summer what’s the best course of action and what my own personal preference is. I’m in love right here. I’m happy I went.

If everyone is on board, then it’s going to be one of my possibilities. You’ll have to wait and see in the summer as I was unable to provide you with the correct response at this time.
