It was another busy weekend of football for Everton loanees in action for their temporary clubs. Here is an overview of how our players performed in this week’s Loan Watch… Overview: A win at the weekend would’ve secured the National League title for Chesterfield, but the Spireites were forced to battle back from a two-goal deficit to earn a point on Saturday. On-loan goalkeeper Tyrer featured again for Paul Cook’s team, who now have 92 points – a club record for a league season.
If second-placed Barnet, who are 24 points behind Tyrer’s side, fail to win on Tuesday against Eastleigh, then the National League trophy will be heading to Chesterfield. Weir’s Glasgow City picked up a 2-0 victory in their first game of the second phase of the Scottish Women’s Premier League. Almost picking up an assist for her side’s second goal, she found Emily Whelan with a well-timed through ball, but Whelan saw her initial effort saved, before converting from the rebound. The 20-year-old defender Weir played the full match for City, whose win sees them close the gap to just a point behind Rangers at the top of the table, with just nine games remaining. Farsley fell to a 3-0 defeat on Saturday, as Boston’s Kelsey Mooney struck a hat-trick for the home side. Young goalkeeper Leban played the full 90 minutes for Farsley, who will be hoping to recover from a difficult run of form, when they welcome Hereford on Saturday in their next game.
