BREAKING NEWS: One thing that is ‘hard to believe’ after Ipswich Town defeat Sheffield Wednesday

Ipswich Town 6-0 Sheffield Wednesday: Tractor Boys back up to second - BBC Sport

After losing to Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday has been informed of one “hard to believe” development at the team.
In recent weeks, Sheffield Wednesday has suffered their first defeat since January after dropping back-to-back games. The Owls’ greatest loss since they were defeated 7-0 by Manchester City in the League Cup nearly ten years ago occurred yesterday when they gave up an astounding six goals against Ipswich Town.

They are now one point from safety in 23rd position as a result of the loss, while Ipswich has reclaimed the automatic promotion spots to the Championship.
Less than a year after the two teams, separated by only two points, achieved promotion from League One, Hillsborough delivered a crushing blow.

After a fierce competition between the two teams to secure a spot in the automatic qualifiers, the Tractor Boys emerged victorious, just behind Plymouth Argyle.
Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich have very little in common. The two teams’ last meeting ended in a 2-2 draw, and the Owls had won all four of their previous games.
But Wednesday faces an immediate return to the third division, while Kieran McKenna’s team has soared to triumph this season.

Journalist Joe Crann of The Star acknowledged on X yesterday that the two campaigns “couldn’t be more different,” adding, “#SWFC absolutely outclassed by Ipswich today.” It’s amazing to think how close they were to one another in the previous season, given how drastically different things have been since. It concludes with a 6-0.
What distinguishes Ipswich Town from Sheffield Wednesday?
Before Kieran McKenna led them last season, Ipswich Town had not competed in the Premier League since 2002 and had not even made it to the League One playoffs.
Sheffield Wednesday had previously appeared to have the best chance of making a comeback to the top division, having made it to the Championship playoffs in each of their 2015 and 2017 campaigns.Barnsley v Sheffield Wednesday: Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final

HThis time, though, the Tractor Boys have made a difference, and you can’t really hold Sheffield Wednesday’s players or manager Danny Rohl responsible.

Ipswich has spent about £4 million this season, according to transfermarkt, but they will probably have to pay a hefty price for loan talents like Brandon Williams and Kieffer Moore.
In the meantime, the Owls have spent slightly more than £1 million and have only signed two Premier League loanees: James Beadle and Jeff Hendrick, the latter of whom is reportedly only paid £3,000 per week.

Even though Ipswich is obviously in a lot better financial situation, the frustration remains.
Sheffield Wednesday would have far better chances to realize their potential if Dejphon Chansiri was a little more willing to part with his cash or even just sell the team. Rohl has brought potential to the team, and he will become extremely irate if he isn’t given the means to realize it.
