Rangers like Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski
“Warnock was right when he said Aberdeen have no leaders, apart from Graeme Shinnie,” writes Boyd in his column for the Scottish Sun.
“Bojan Miovski hasn’t scored in seven games and seems like a shell of himself. It’s fine to have the chest puffed out when everything is going well, but he needs to step up for his team in this important moment.”
Miovski still has 22 goals this season, of course. And form, as they say, is only transient. With Aberdeen in tenth place, it’s crucial for the former MTV Budapest star to show that his class is still relevant.
“We played an excellent game today. Rangers manager Philippe Clement praised Miovski’s strong performance against Conor Goldson in February, with Todd Cantwell securing a late goal for the club.
“But these are the types of games that occur during a season when the odds are stacked against you. You completely dominate the first half, with chances to score more than once.”And then there’s this one moment that exemplifies Miovski’s quality. He does not require much to score goals.
Could Dons’ problems cost Miovski a transfer?Warnock singled him out for all the wrong reasons during a 2-0 loss to Kilmarnock later that month, and Boyd is correct when he adds that a player who appeared to have confidence gushing from every pore not so long before ‘looks a shell of himself’.
