BREAKING NEWS: Not Many Celtic Fans Would Want Him Back: Former Bhoy on Loan

Celtic fans fire Brendan Rodgers transfer warning to board as they demand boss is backed - Daily Record

Andy Walker agrees that Celtic’s loaned-out star Mikey Johnston is performing well at West Brom, but believes that few Bhoys fans would want him back.

Johnston, who played a minor role for Celtic in the first half of the season, moved out on loan to West Brom with the hopes of getting more regular game time.

The Celtic academy product has been outstanding since his arrival at the Hawthorns, netting six goals in nine league outings.

Walker believes Johnston has joined a wonderful club in West Brom, and he admits he is in excellent form for the Baggies.

However, the ex-Bhoys star pointed out that it is tough for Celtic’s youth players to break into the first squad and believes that, despite Johnston’s impressive performances with West Brom, few fans would welcome him back to the club.

Walker on Go Radio Football Show stated that it is challenging for young players like Rocco Vata to establish themselves in the Celtic first-team. He compared Mikey Johnstone’s success at West Brom, where he is scoring goals and creating chances, to the difficulties faced by Celtic players.

Johnston is catching the eye in the English Championship and is likely to find a buyer in England if Celtic do not wish to keep him.
