Rangers move for Brazilian back on table as agents fly to Italy to finalise agreement.

Rangers move for Brazilian back on agenda as agents jet out to Italy to seal deal

Rangers mainstay Borna Barisic is set to begin talks about a move to Turkey, reopening the situation with Brazilian left-back Jefte.

Barisic, who has been with Rangers since 2018, is reportedly in talks with Turkish champions Trabzonspor for a summer transfer.

The 31-year-old Croatian international has been at Ibrox since summer 2018, but has recently found himself out of the lineup due to Ridvan Yilmaz’s play.

Borna Barisic’s contract expires at the conclusion of the season, making it probable he will leave Rangers in the summer.

Jefte may also be arriving.

Will Jefte replace Borna Barisic at Rangers?

That sparks speculation about who will join Rangers to replace the Ibrox veteran.

If Borna Barisic leaves the club in the summer, the defender will have spent his greatest years with Rangers, and all of his experience will depart with him.

During the January transfer window, APOEL’s 20-year-old left-back Jefte was a top contender, despite talk about Ridvan Yilmaz and his potential move to Galatasaray.

Rangers were interested in signing the left-back, who had been on loan from Brazilian club Fluminense and was out of contract in the summer. He has performed well in Cyprus this season.

Ibrox star’s agent jets off to Italy.

According to a journalist, conversations over Borna Barisic’s representation and a potential Rangers transfer will intensify in Italy next week.

Nils Koppen, Rangers Director of Recruitment, has already confirmed his participation at the TransferRoom Summit.

At least, according to Derek Clark, Borna Barisic’s representatives will want to “firm up” any exit from Rome.

With Borna Barisic looks likely to leave Rangers, it would mark the end of an era for the Croatian at Ibrox.

Rangers’ left-back has made 230 appearances, including 29 this season, and scored 10 goals in his six seasons in Glasgow.
