Breaking News: Ipswich Town in talks with 2021 signing over new contract, deal up this summer

Vaclav Hladky, the custodian for Ipswich Town, has stated that “negotiations” for a new contract are taking on behind closed doors.

The stopper and Ipswich Town are in negotiations about the stopper’s possible stay extension at Portman Road.

Hladky, 33, has a contract that expires at the conclusion of this season, and as things stand, he will be eligible to become a free agency in the summer.

According to an article from the East Anglian Daily Times, he has given this update on his circumstances:I have few words to share. Of course, there are talks, but nothing has been accomplished thus far, and they may take some time.

Hladky had to wait patiently for playing time during his first few years with the Suffolk team after signing with Ipswich back in 2021.

After their promotion from League One, he has taken the top rank in the Championship this season.

Because to his footwork, the former Czech Republic youth international has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season.

Even if Hladky ends up losing his spot to a new acquisition in the long run, the Tractor Boys would have made a wise business decision by holding onto him. This would provide them a useful option between the sticks who can play the way Kieran McKenna wants his team to play.

He moved to the UK in 2019 after signing a contract with St Mirren. Before relocating to Scotland, the 6’4″ player played for FC Zbrojovka Brno and Slovan Liberec.

Hladky played in 59 games for the Buddies prior to Salford City luring him south of the line. He managed to play 53 games for the Ammies prior to moving to the Ipswich.

Despite their most recent away loss to Cardiff City (2-1), McKenna’s club is still very much in the running to automatically advance to the Premier League alongside Southampton, Leeds United, and Leicester City. Their next game is at home against Sheffield Wednesday as they look to go back to winning ways.
