‘Unfortunately’… Kieran McKenna reacts when asked about Leeds overtaking Ipswich into 2nd

Leeds United finished the weekend with a near-perfect 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town, following their Saturday victory over Sheffield Wednesday. Kieran McKenna gave his response to the outcome.

Leeds got the weekend off to a terrific start. After dominating Wednesday’s pressing in the first half, Patrick Bamford came out at the back post to convert Junior Firpo’s superb low cross.

Daniel Farke referred to the help as “perfect.”Willy Gnonto, Georgianio Rutter, and Bamford all scored excellent goals to give the Italians a lead in the second half. a 2-0 triumph, 12 wins out of 13 league games.

Ipswich, who were due to play again on Saturday just after noon, were under constant siege. Kieffer Moore seemed to have led Ipswich to victory when they went to Wales to play Cardiff.

But there was drama in the evening. After scoring an equaliser in the 95th minute, Cardiff scored the game’s winning goal in the 100th. With nine games left, Leeds sits in second position. McKenna provided his evaluation.

“Who can say? We’re not thinking about holding a promotion race, to be honest. putting ourselves, our mission, and the next game first and doing the best we can. The performance may have been improved in a few areas.

“The second part was excellent. McKenna was quoted by EP as saying, “Whether we won today, drew today, or regrettably lost today, it wouldn’t change anything that we focus on or work on next week.”

What a weekend it was in Leeds. Not only did Ipswich lose, but Leicester also failed to win, drawing 2-2 with Hull—a fair result given how brilliantly Hull has played this season.

The Foxes currently lead Leeds by just three points with nine league games left. Leeds presently has the strongest momentum among the top four teams. This season still has a lot of surprises in store.
