Scott Brown reacts to “very special” Celtic return for Legends game

Scott Brown has reacted after he was named as the captain for the forthcoming Celtic Foundation Legends game against Borussia Dortmund. The Ayr United manager will once again take to the pitch at Paradise wearing the Hoops when the teams meet to raise money for the club’s charitable wing in May. Speaking to the Celtic website, Brown reflected on what it will mean to play for Celtic again and the donation that will be made to Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewell in Dundee in honour of Fiona Brown, Scott’s late sister.

“Coming back to Celtic as captain of the Legends side will be wonderful for me and my family. I obviously spent a huge part of my career at the club and had so many incredible memories, so to return and pull on the jersey again will be very special.  “It’ll be fantastic to line up alongside so many former team-mates, as well as a number of other Celtic greats. “I am also truly honoured that a donation will made be in memory of Fiona, it means so much to my family and I’d like to thank the Foundation and all the fans in advance for their support.” Brown was signed by Celtic in the summer of 2007 from Hibs in a record deal. The domineering midfielder would go on to make 620 appearances for the club, scoring 46 goals and collecting 22 trophies in the Green and White Hoops.
