After what transpired with Rangers, Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist get enraged over the Celtic controversy.

I was nearly one myself' - Rangers hero Ally McCoist trolled by Celtic-daft Alan Brazil over Ibrox exodus v Liverpool | The Scottish Sun

Recalling a recent occurrence against Rangers, Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist have become enraged by the recent dispute surrounding a handball ruling delivered against Celtic.

The two questioned the methodology used to make the handball decisions, with McCoist requesting a clarification of the regulations due to the inconsistent nature of the awards made by the referees.

Brazil even went so far as to say that the contentious calls are degrading the game and that neither the officials nor the spectators or commentators understand the rules.

McCoist said in a live speech on talkSPORT [March 6, 06:09]: “It was disgraceful.” It’s amazing. Unbelievably, Kilmarnock received one against Rangers at home, and the Celtic one was far worse. However, Lundstram was struck by it while his arm was still at his side.

“That’s the problem, Ally, nobody knows what the rules are around hand-balls,” Brazil retorted. If there are five referees, three will vote for one and two for the other.

McCoist was still furious, saying, “They need to use the word ‘Obvious’ or ‘Deliberate.'” If you’ve played the game at any level, you and I are aware when a handball is intentional. You know 99 times out of 100.

Finally, McCoist said, “It is, it’s absolutely terrible,” and Brazil guessed, “It’s spoiling the game.”

Is the game in Scotland being ruined by inconsistent refereeing?

After making a number of contentious decisions against both Old Firm clubs, Scottish officials have recently come under fire. McCoist and Brazil are the most recent to declare their intention to referee in the SPFL.

Though inconsistent decision-making is a topic of discussion virtually every weekend in the Premier League, this problem extends beyond Scotland. Rumours have it that either the regulations aren’t clear enough or the officials aren’t skilled enough.

This season, referees have been especially important to Rangers. Willie Collum and Alan Muir have both drawn criticism for contentious rulings against the Ibrox club, with some even suggesting Collum should be barred from officiating Rangers games.

Following the revelation that SPFL referees are not required to disclose which team they support, Chris Sutton talked about what he called “conspiracy theories.” This raised the prospect that a Celtics supporter would officiate a Rangers game, and vice versa.
