BRENDAN RODGERS OPENS UP: I AM SICK & TIRE OF RANGERS NARRATIVE

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is sick of the narrative surrounding Rangers that they are invincible and will win every game between now and the end of the season.  The Hoops boss pointed towards the Ibrox club’s unexpected 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell on Saturday as an example of why they are not unbreakable. Despite losing, though, the Gers remained top of the table at the end of the weekend because of events involving Celtic at Tynecastle yesterday. Hearts ran out 2-0 winners amid a backdrop of controversial refereeing and VAR decisions that were rightly called out by Rodgers post-match. It was a frustrating afternoon for the manager and his players, but they can’t dwell on it too much, particularly at such a pivotal point in the season. They need to move on swiftly, but there will be many twists in the tale as of yet, the double-treble-winning boss pointing out Saturday’s events to back up his point: “You would never have said yesterday before Rangers lost to Motherwell at home that they would lose”, he said (Football Scotland).

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
The belief that Rangers is unbeatable and would win every game until the end of the season has become old to Celtics manager Brendan Rodgers, who has made this admission. The Ibrox club’s shocking 2-1 home loss to Motherwell on Saturday was cited by the Hoops manager as evidence that they are not invincible. But because of what happened with Celtic at Tynecastle yesterday, the Gers managed to stay atop the league even though they lost. In the midst of contentious officiating and VAR rulings that were rightfully criticized by Rodgers after the game, Hearts prevailed 2-0. The manager and his players had a disappointing afternoon, but they can’t focus on it too much at this crucial juncture in the season. The double-treble winning manager used Saturday’s results to support his statement that they must move on quickly but that there will still be many twists in the story. “You would never have said yesterday before Rangers lost to Motherwell at home that they would lose,” he remarked (Football Scotland).
