Midfielder “diamond” is advised against signing with Rangers this summer since he isn’t ready.

Rangers should jump at the chance to sign Motherwell wonderkid Lennon Miller after the Scottish Premiership sensation bamboozled Callum McGregor during Sunday’s clash with Celtic. 

Charlie Mulgrew, a former Scotland international, believes that the 17-year-old can succeed at Rangers and has no doubts about it. Or Celtic, the defender’s previous employers, for that matter.

Brendan Rodgers saw Lennon Miller’s skills with his own eyes on Sunday. Before laying on Blair Spittal’s opening goal at Firhill, the Under-19 international spun around and danced his way past a challenge on the edge of the box, leaving McGregor stunned and perplexed.

A bit of balletic, almost Zidane-esque genius that Miller somewhat sheepishly refers to as a “little bit of trickery.”

Mulgrew says Sky Sports, “You see the effect he had on the game,” as his former team recovers with a pair of late goals after Miller’s magnificent assist.”The way he plays, he plays like a man. He is really intelligent.

“He is requesting that the goalie take the kickoff and flick it on, just like his father, former Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, and Dundee United star Lee Miller, used to do.”

What a talented individual. He hails from a nice home and is a sensible boy. He is someone I would sign right away and add to the roster if I were the Rangers or Celtics.

“What an athlete he is.”

Some have compared Lennon to Scotland’s version of Steven Gerrard. Though Billy Gilmour, a 2006-born player who shares Brighton’s exceptional elegance and control against many more experienced players, may be a more appropriate parallel.

Although Mulgrew is certain that Miller can adjust to life at the Old Firm before he turns 18, former Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes that patience is a virtue.

Miller, who is still relatively fresh to professional football, according to Lennon, would gain more from a career path such to that of Lewis Ferguson, who left Aberdeen after several years in the first team picture and went on to become one of Serie A’s best midfielders.

“I believe that development there (at Motherwell) will be beneficial for him,” Lennon contends. “He’s in a nice setting and place.

Clearly, he is a really talented man. For a 17-year-old, he already has a decent size. a graceful player who can use both feet. He provided a fantastic assist for the goal considering his age.

You simply want to look out for him and protect him because they have a gem there. I think it would be best for him to just remain where he is. Before they can even walk, everyone wants to run.

“However, he would benefit greatly from another 50 or 60 games.”
