Breaking News:Celtic Kid Continues Perfect Start to Austrian Loan Spell With Late Winner

Celtic’s young midfielder Ben Summers continues to impress during his loan spell at Admira Wacker in Austria’s second tier. After a delayed debut due to work permit issues, Summers quickly made his mark, scoring in a 2-0 victory over SV Stripfing. This weekend, he followed up with another crucial performance, netting the only goal in a 1-0 win against Amstetten, bringing his tally to two goals in as many games.

Summers, who is 20 years old, made his senior debut for Celtic under Ange Postecoglou and has two appearances for the Hoops. His current loan, alongside fellow Celtic player Matthew Anderson, represents a significant step forward after an underwhelming spell at Dunfermline last season. Both players are using their time at Celtic’s partner club to develop further, with Summers contracted at Celtic until 2026. His strong performances in Austria could help him return to Glasgow next summer to challenge for a spot in Brendan Rodgers’ first team.

Rodgers, known for nurturing young talent, has yet to see any academy players break through during his second stint at Celtic, but Summers and Anderson may be poised to change that.
