Ianis Hagi is set to make a strong comeback for Rangers after resolving a prolonged contract situation that saw him sidelined for a significant period. The Romanian international, who recently reached the milestone of 100 appearances for the club, negotiated a compromise regarding a planned wage increase, which initially led to his exclusion from the first team.
Upon returning to the squad, Hagi made an immediate impact as a substitute in the recent 2-0 victory against St Johnstone, assisting Vaclav Cerny for one of the goals. However, he now faces another setback after receiving a red card, which will keep him out of upcoming matches against Kilmarnock and St Mirren in the Premiership, as well as the Europa League clash against Steaua Bucharest.
Despite these challenges, Hagi’s uncle, Gheorghe Popescu, a former Barcelona defender, is optimistic about his nephew’s return to form. He expressed confidence that the time away from the pitch has strengthened Hagi and believes he will quickly regain his top performance levels.
