A 57-year-old West Ham United fan tragically died in Belgium after being struck by a train at Sint-Pieter’s Station in Gent. The incident occurred following the team’s Europa Conference League quarter-final match against Gent on Thursday, April 13, 2023. According to local prosecutors, the fan had climbed an “elevation” leading to the train tracks for “unknown reasons.” Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was later pronounced dead. Authorities described the event as an “unfortunate accident” .
