Charles Leclerc Blasts Ferrari After Costly Monaco Grand P… read more 👇 full details in the comments

Ferrari driver expressed his frustration after a dramatic end to his home race at the Monaco Grand Prix, insisting that a braking issue on his car was responsible for the accident that ended his hopes of victory.

The Monegasque star arrived at Monaco as one of the leading contenders for a strong result, with many expecting him to challenge for a podium finish or even race victory. Throughout much of the event, Leclerc remained firmly in the fight at the front of the field and appeared well-positioned to secure a valuable haul of championship points for Ferrari.

However, the race took a dramatic turn in the closing stages when crashed on lap 60, bringing out a safety car. The neutralization provided teams with an opportunity to make strategic pit stops, and Leclerc took advantage by fitting a fresh set of tyres.

Unfortunately, the restart proved disastrous. Moments after racing resumed, Leclerc lost control and crashed into the barriers at the same section of the circuit where Stroll had suffered his accident just minutes earlier. The impact immediately ended his race and triggered an emotional reaction from the Ferrari driver.

Over team radio, Leclerc was quick to point toward braking problems rather than driver error. He angrily stated that he would not accept responsibility for the incident, claiming the brakes had let him down at a critical moment.

The crash also contributed to a race stoppage after officials discovered damage to the track surface near the final corner. The resulting red flag caused a delay of more than half an hour before the remaining laps could be completed.

While Leclerc watched from the sidelines, Ferrari team-mate continued his strong run of form. Hamilton was unable to pass championship leader for the lead but still secured second place, adding another podium finish to his season.

The result had significant championship implications. Hamilton moved ahead of Leclerc in the standings and also climbed above , strengthening his position in the title battle.

Speaking to reporters after the race, Leclerc appeared deeply disappointed and maintained that the crash was caused by technical problems rather than a mistake behind the wheel. He acknowledged that the deteriorating track surface may have played a role, but insisted that Ferrari’s data would clearly show the true cause of the accident.

Leclerc explained that he has always tried to be honest when assessing his performances, admitting mistakes whenever he believes they are his fault. However, he stressed that this incident was different and that he would not accept blame for something he believes was beyond his control.

According to the Ferrari driver, the braking system behaved unpredictably as he approached the corner. He claimed the front brakes generated much more stopping power than expected, while the rear brakes offered almost no deceleration at all. The imbalance, he said, left him unable to control the car properly.

Leclerc revealed that similar issues have affected him over the last two races. Although he suggested that differences in brake setups between Ferrari cars have not generally placed him at a disadvantage, he admitted that Monaco and Montreal exposed the problem more severely due to colder tyre temperatures and the narrow operating window of modern Formula 1 machinery.

The Ferrari star described the situation as both frustrating and potentially dangerous. He said the experience left him feeling embarrassed because the outside world would likely view the accident as a driver mistake, even though he believes the real cause was mechanical.

Looking ahead, Leclerc confirmed that Ferrari has identified a solution. He revealed that he intends to switch to a braking configuration closer to the one currently used by Hamilton. While acknowledging that Hamilton’s setup may come with its own compromises, Leclerc emphasized that consistency is now his main priority as he seeks to avoid similar problems in future races.

With the championship battle intensifying, Ferrari will be eager to resolve the issue quickly and help Leclerc return to challenging for victories in the coming rounds.
