GOOD NEWS: Everton star offered new contract

Everton are reportedly in talks to extend the contract of star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose current deal is set to expire in the coming months. As it stands, the 27-year-old forward can begin negotiating with clubs abroad for a free transfer in January, amid interest from various European teams. Over the summer, Newcastle United showed interest in Calvert-Lewin, but no move materialized, and he remains a crucial player for the Toffees.

Calvert-Lewin has been involved in three of Everton’s four goals this season and started all four of their Premier League games, reinforcing his importance to Sean Dyche’s side. Despite facing injury challenges in recent years, his fitness and form have shown improvement, particularly in strong performances towards the end of last season. Dyche highlighted one game against Liverpool, praising the striker’s “excellent” physical performance.

Everton are keen to avoid losing Calvert-Lewin for free and have reportedly made a contract offer to retain him. Although the player is said to be fond of Everton and has not sought to leave, the uncertainty surrounding his contract could allow him to leave at the end of the season without a fee.

Securing Calvert-Lewin’s future would be a significant boost for Everton, especially as they aim to turn around a poor start to the season and avoid relegation struggles. With the striker currently third on the list of Everton’s all-time Premier League goal scorers, his continued presence could be vital in their quest for stability.
