SAD NEWS: Two men charged after brawl outside Celtic pub before Champions League clash

Two men have been charged following a brawl that broke out before and during Celtic’s Champions League match against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday night. Police responded to reports of a large crowd outside the McChuills pub on High Street, Glasgow, prior to the game at Celtic Park.

According to *Glasgow Live*, video footage showed Slovan Bratislava fans, dressed in their team’s colors, clashing with Celtic supporters outside the popular pub. A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace, while an investigation is ongoing after a 39-year-old man was assaulted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged following a disturbance outside McChuills on High Street. Enquiries are continuing after a 39-year-old man was assaulted outside a pub on High Street, Glasgow, on Wednesday, 18 September 2024.”

Additionally, during the match at Celtic Park, a 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with another breach of the peace. He has been released with a court date pending.
