Lewis Hamilton Wins Over Italian Media With Stunning Ferrari Podium…read more

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has finally started to silence critics after delivering one of his strongest performances yet for Scuderia Ferrari at the Canadian Grand Prix. Following a difficult debut season with the Italian team in 2025, Hamilton’s recent podium finish in Montreal has sparked renewed optimism among Ferrari fans and the Italian media alike.

When Hamilton made the blockbuster switch from Mercedes to Ferrari last year, expectations were sky-high. Many believed the British driver would instantly return Ferrari to championship contention. Instead, the transition proved far more difficult than expected. Hamilton struggled to adapt to Ferrari’s car during the ground-effect era, while inconsistent performances and frustration on race weekends led to growing criticism from sections of the Italian press.

However, the arrival of Formula 1’s new 2026 regulations appears to have changed everything.

At the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton produced arguably his best drive since joining Ferrari. Starting further down the grid, the 41-year-old showed flashes of the brilliance that made him one of the greatest drivers in F1 history. His aggressive race pace, clever tyre management, and late overtake on longtime rival Max Verstappen helped him secure second place — his best result yet in Ferrari colours.

The result immediately changed the mood surrounding Hamilton in Italy. Several Italian outlets praised both his determination and his growing confidence with the SF-26 car. Reports suggested that Hamilton now looks far more comfortable under the new regulations than he ever did during the previous generation of cars.

Hamilton himself admitted after the race that he finally feels at home inside the Ferrari. The Brit explained that the team has worked tirelessly to improve communication and adapt the car setup to better suit his driving style. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur was also credited for helping create a calmer and more supportive environment around the veteran driver.

The podium finish was particularly important because Ferrari has often struggled on circuits that demand strong straight-line speed, making Hamilton’s result even more impressive. Despite Mercedes once again showing dominant pace through rising star Kimi Antonelli, Hamilton managed to extract the maximum from his Ferrari throughout the race.

The performance also arrives at a crucial moment amid speculation about Hamilton’s future. Recent reports linked Ferrari with possible long-term replacements, while rumours surrounding retirement have continued to follow the seven-time champion. Hamilton responded strongly in Montreal, insisting he remains fully committed to Formula 1 and plans to stay in the sport for years to come.

Most importantly for Ferrari supporters, Hamilton’s latest performance has restored belief that the partnership can still succeed. After a frustrating first year together, there are finally signs that Hamilton and Ferrari may be beginning to unlock their full potential.

If Montreal is anything to go by, the legendary driver’s story in red may only just be getting started.
