Steven Schumacher has left his position as Head Coach of Stoke City.

 

Jon Walters stated, “As Sporting Director, it’s my responsibility to make difficult decisions that align with the long-term goals of Stoke City.

“Following continuous talks with John Coates, we’ve determined that now is the right time for a shift in direction to drive the club toward success.

“We have a young and energetic squad keen to progress, along with a clear plan for achieving our objectives. A new appointment will be announced soon, and to reach our goals, we’ll need the unified backing of the fans, staff, and players.”

“As is often the case in football, these decisions are tough, and we wish Steven and his staff the very best for the future.”

Following the departures of Mark Hughes, Chris Cohen, Peter Cavanagh, and Elliot Turner, Alex Morris and Ryan Shawcross will step in as caretaker managers.

Chairman John Coates said, “Steven, Mark, Chris, Peter, and Elliot leave with our gratitude for their efforts, and we send them our best wishes for their future endeavors.

“We believe in the squad we have built and are confident they can achieve success for Stoke City this season.

“I remain deeply grateful to our fans for their unwavering and passionate support.”
